Please support our nomination of Whitgift School’s Cricket Academy Head Coach, Simon Jackson who has been shortlisted for the LV= Insurance Pride of Cricket Awards 2021 in the Community Hero Category.

The LV= Insurance Pride of Cricket Awards recognises the incredible achievements of the grassroots cricket community – both over the past 12 months and during entire lifetimes. The Awards are spread across seven categories – from lifetime achievement to community engagement, fundraising to social media. The Pride of Cricket Awards judging panel has whittled the entry list down to a shortlist of 10 names, and Mr Jackson is amongst those shortlisted in the Community Hero Category.

Mr Jackson has been part of a ground-breaking scheme, The Ace Academy (a charity set up to give members of the black community in London access to Cricket), since its inception in January 2020 as one of their lead coaches and mentors to under-14s and under-19s. In July 2021, Mr Jackson organised a residential camp at Whitgift for 21 ACE cricketers, with full use of sports and boarding facilities and full catering provided at no charge.

John Whitgift Foundation is pleased to see Mr Jackson’s contribution to the community acknowledged – voting is now open and will remain so until Friday, September 10. If you are able, please click here to vote so we can show him our support.
