Staff and residents at Whitgift House joined together in mass applause today to show their appreciation for our healthcare heroes on the frontline of the battle against the Coronavirus pandemic in the UK.
The nationwide ‘Clap for our Carers’ initiative has swept the UK with households, residential streets and workplaces uniting on a Thursday to clap and cheer in support and admiration for the NHS during these challenging times.
To show support for the initiative, Whitgift House came alive with applause this afternoon. Staff lined the corridors of Whitgift House, with full care residents enthusiastically clapping from their rooms or the garden, and sheltered residents joining in the applause from their doorsteps.
Our care staff at Whitgift Care are working incredibly hard to keep our residents safe and well during these unprecedented times, and the comfort and companionship they are providing to residents is crucial to keeping their spirits up during this difficult period.
Here at John Whitgift Foundation, we are extremely grateful for the hard work and dedication of our staff at Whitgift Care, and we would like to thank them for all they are doing to continue providing outstanding quality of care for our residents. Staff are helping residents use technology to stay in touch with loved ones during social distancing, using the home’s iPad to communicate with friends and family.
During this period of uncertainty, John Whitgift Foundation remains open for our community, and our care homes are here to provide support and care for older people at a time where it is needed more than ever.
