Three Trinity School students were recently invited to play in the Jazz Centre UK’s jam sessions, which are celebrating London’s famous 100 Club.
This is the second invitation to our students and they lined up alongside an all-star professional band including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra Director, the Director of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra and the Head of Jazz at the Royal College of Music.
Congratulations to Jasper Bew, on guitar, Patrick Minton, trombone, and Safi Tiotto-Smith, saxophone, for rising to the challenge so brilliantly. Show observers said the highlight was a play off between 13-year-old Jasper and 70-year-old jazz legend, John Pearce.
A-Level Music student, Safi Tiotto-Smith, comments: “This opportunity was a ray of sunshine. To hear such an incredible jazz sound was truly wonderful, and to be a part of that sound was even more of a delight!”
