This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday, the day we commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
Sadly, like lots of events throughout this year, we are unable to mark this day in our usual way, but this is not stopping our communities remembering those now no longer with us.
At Whitgift Care we use Remembrance Sunday to thank our Armed Forces for their sacrifices, and as an opportunity to remember residents and residents’ loved-ones who are no-longer with us.
This week our residents have been busy producing a beautiful and touching display of ‘poppies’. The ‘poppies’, which are made from acer plants from the Wilhelmina House gardens, have been mounted alongside a list of names of loved-ones.
Whitgift Care Homes: The Whitgift Almshouses, Whitgift House and Wilhelmina House, are happy, thriving and secure communities where staff are on hand 24 hours a day to provide the highest standards of care. Within Whitgift Care, we like to call ourselves a family where our core values of respect, dignity and privacy are our priority.
