Pupils at Old Palace Preparatory School are celebrating some prize-winning performances at this year’s Croydon Performing Arts Festival.

On Saturday 30th April the Prep Palace Singers’ choir of forty-six girls in Years 3, 4 and 5 were awarded the Flora Ezenwoye trophy for Junior Choirs, as well as receiving an impressive ‘distinction’ grading in the Choral section of the festival.  The adjudicator, Amy Bebbington, commented on ‘an exciting performance with beautifully clear words, good intonation, lovely tone, an effective dynamic palette and well managed three part harmony’.

Following this great achievement, thirty-five prep girls entered the Speech and Drama section, winning places in every class that they entered. Most impressively, awards were given to Year 1 entrants, with Grace in Year 4 and Zandile in Year 5 winning 1st place in their classes.
