Whitgift School students took part in the finals of the annual Nihongo Cup Speech Contest.
Normally held at the Japanese Embassy, took place via Zoom and saw contestants give a speech in Japanese and then answer questions from the audience.

“This is a prestigious Japanese speech competition”, said Mr A Hunt, Head of Languages at Whitgift School. “Contestants from secondary schools all over the UK take part and the standard is always very high. Congratulations to all the students involved and to Ms C Hashimoto who helped them prepare for the contest. The whole Japanese Department is very proud!”
