Whitgift House Activities Organiser Ann has gained her NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care. The course focussed on planning, delivering and evaluating activities, and the benefits of a whole activities programme to spontaneous activities such as having a chat in a corridor or making a cup of tea for a resident.
Taking four months to complete, she learnt how to deal with different situations and cope with different abilities in group activities which has boosted Ann’s confidence.
Ann commented: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this course and learnt so much such as how a meaningful activity can improve residents’ mental well-being and give structure to their day. Activities also play a key role in giving them confidence and purpose which has been vital during lockdown.
